When I was 15 years old, I was already dealing with shoulder problems. I had atrophy in one of the main muscles that stabilizes the shoulder, the infraspinatus.
I played a big part of my career with shoulder pain, but I didn’t stop. I learned how to train around it, I strengthened my shoulder, I made it stable and for years I played at a high level without limitations.
Then everything changed during the pandemic. I was playing professionally, gyms were closed, I didn’t have access to proper training.
We were basically just playing volleyball, without real strength work and little by little, my shoulder started getting weaker.
Until one play, I went up to attack, felt a sharp pain in my shoulder and I couldn’t keep playing.
After the exams, it was clear: I had multiple injuries in my shoulder.
I had a surgery and the doctor told me: “Your shoulder will never be the same again, you probably won’t be able to play at the same level.”
At that point, I had two options: Stop playing or rebuild my shoulder from scratch.
I chose to rebuild it. Not just to be pain-free, but to come back stronger. Today, at 38 years old, I still compete at a high level. I can hit hard again, I can train with confidence again and that’s exactly why Armored Shoulder exists.
